"As an enthusiastic supporter of youth and sport, Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) directed a bid for the 2027 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG). As the only Indigenous led bid, it was critical for us to reflect the values of the Secwépemc people and our members. Knowing our competition had a population greater than ten times of ours, our bid was acknowledged for being exceptionally thorough and exciting which positioned us as strong competition against Calgary, AB.

We retained consultant Niki Remesz, Uniquely Inspired Marketing, based on her reputation and experience. Her oversight thoroughly guided us over the eight months of the process. She possessed contacts that proved beneficial to the bid and ultimately were cultivated into partnerships. She built working groups that reached across the province of British Columbia throughout every level of sport, tourism, transportation, accommodation, security and more that supported our bid. Niki coordinated and produced a 200+ page bid book that reflected TteS standards of excellence which bested our competition.

She worked collaboratively across multiple TteS departments, the City of Kamloops, I•SPARC, Shuswap Nation Tribal Council Chiefs, BC Regional Chief, the Province of British Columbia, our Member of Parliament, and others to coordinate and produce two videos, a three-day site tour for NAIG Delegates, plus an in-person presentation of TteS delegates in Halifax. Throughout each step, Niki worked with TteS Chief and Council to ensure the values and merits of TteS were illustrated and demonstrated accurately.

Although we were not the successful bidder, TteS has a lot to be proud of. The process fostered Truth and Reconciliation on many levels throughout the Province of B.C. Additionally, TteS has gained valuable infrastructure for future bidding and hosting opportunities.

"As the Mayor of Kamloops, I was pleased to support Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) with the bid to host the 2027 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG). Niki Remesz, Uniquely Inspired Marketing, was retained by TteS to coordinate the overall process and requirements of the bid and bring together partnerships from the City of Kamloops throughout the Province of BC.

Niki was timely, proactive, and kept us all very well informed by establishing working groups and ongoing communication with City staff and myself. She created a detailed bid book that was exceptionally branded and resulted in high marks from adjudicators, plus she organized a 3-day site tour for NAIG Delegates to tour city sport venues, and she prepared a delegation in Halifax to present to the NAIG committee.
